Steve Donoghue

Steve Donoghue joins Makor as an accomplished Director of Maintenance with over 15 years of experience overseeing property maintenance in the New England region. Since 2010, Steve has managed a 16-property, 2000-unit multi-family housing portfolio, supervising daily operations, rehabilitation projects, office/unit designs, capital improvements, and refinancing initiatives. Known for achieving scores of 90+ on over 60 HUD REAC and NSPIRE inspections across the U.S., Steve has also sourced grants and rebates for capital needs, implemented strict preventive maintenance schedules, and reduced portfolio budgets effectively. Steve played a key role in assisting to standardize national supply accounts, driving significant cost saving and reducing maintenance expenses.

With expertise in construction and project management, multi-family housing maintenance, HVAC systems, blueprint reading, and capital needs implementation, Steve holds an impressive array of certifications, including a Universal EPA 608 Certification, OSHA 30hr, NAHMA-NAHMS Certification, and an MA Unrestricted Construction Supervisors License. His career began as a Carpenter and Project Manager with the MA Carpenters Union Local 107 (2001-2010), followed by leadership roles at Housing Management Resources, Winn Residential, and Chartwell Holdings LLC.

Steve has earned numerous accolades, including the 2013 NAHMA Maintenance Professional of the Year as well as recognition for overseeing three NAHMA Properties of the Year.
